DRUG PRICES

Average wholesale prices of prescription drugs rose at a double-digit pace last year, caused mainly by higher prices to cover future patent expiration and product shortages, according to Coventry Workers' Comp Services’ 2014 First Script Drug Trends Analysis. The overall 10% increase last year was due to a 10.2% rise in brand name drugs and a 9.9% rise in generic drugs.
